Job Summary

We are looking for a Manager Delivery Partner who will play a key role in managing the HR/Payroll space: dedicated business partner for specific entities, managing payroll projects and process improvements, ensure compliance & audit and managing people.

Reporting to the Director, Employee Support & Payroll Services

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team responsible for Payroll and HR Data management advisory within the regional scope for the RioTinto Group.
  • Collaborate and build relationships with various stakeholders, including IT, Global Mobility, HR Operations, HR Business Partners, on behalf of the Director to manage demands and process changes.
  • Support the Director in regular planning, including demand management and pipeline assessment/scheduling.
  • Possess knowledge of end-to-end Payroll activities for both US and Canada (asset), including Employee Data Management and Payroll Accounting.
  • Take responsibility for managing and implementing material demand changes within your regional scope, which may include system testing.
  • Ensure compliance with both local and global regulations in daily operations.
  • Serve as the local Employee Service & Payroll Services Manager for the region within a global team.
  • Support and contribute to the further development of the Shared Service model in the region, collaborating with different Global Hubs.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on Payroll and employee services performance.
  • Assist the Director in strategic planning within the region to enhance service offerings to business units.
  • Support Business Improvement initiatives and assist Service Delivery Teams in implementing, controlling, and standardizing processes.

Requirements:

  • Permanent relocation to Salt Lake City, UT.
  • Hold a degree in a related discipline or possess a solid minimum of 7-10 years of experience delivering business solutions for pay, employee data management, or related projects in a large organization.
  • Have expertise in Payroll processes, serving as the end-to-end process owner, including a deep understanding of Employee Data Management and Payroll Accounting processes.
  • Fluent in local US and CAD payroll processes (an asset).
  • Familiarity with controls and compliance from a Global Organizational perspective, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance.
  • Knowledge of SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide fluent reporting and concise updates.
  • Leadership experience in managing teams across different countries, including coaching and performance management of teams.
  • An inspiring leader and engaging individual.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with empathetic stakeholder management.
  • A mindset for business improvement and process automation, particularly in a BI (Business Improvement) and project-oriented context.
  • Ability to scope, validate, and sign off on processes.
  • Exposure to Shared Services and familiarity with India Backoffice operations.
