Position: Controls Engineer Intervention Solutions
Reports to: Engineering Manager - Service
Trendsetter Rentals & Services utilizes Multiplexed Electro-Hydraulic (MUX) Controls Systems for control of subsea well intervention systems. The Controls Engineer is responsible for ensuring stakeholder satisfaction and compliance with industry standards through oversight on the design and development of new controls systems and maintaining the readiness and operable status of legacy controls systems. The position requires cross- functional collaboration to interface and integrate the controls equipment onto client vessels. The candidate must demonstrate excellent process and project management skills to function effectively with clients, peers, and cross- functional teams.
This position will be based from the Trendsetter office located in Houston, TX, but requires occasional travel in support of field operations. The position offers bonuses and a competitive salary based on applicant s experience.
Ensure the controls systems designs are compliant with stakeholder expectations and defining industry standards.
Identify and incorporate job specific client requirements into new and existing controls systems.
Manage department controls documentation and assigned MDRs.
Create, review, and approve schematics/drawings, procedures, and specifications.
Manage the HMI and mimics for asset/default system configurations and custom client requests.
Act as lead engineer for controls systems integration onto job specific client vessels.
Monitor and perform hold point inspections on all builds and reworks of equipment to ensure that the quality is compliant with IPC Class 3 requirements.
Support all FAT and EFAT testing for controls equipment.
Design and maintain controls test equipment.
Support site receival inspections on electrical cables and equipment.
Analyze new and existing designs for reliability, serviceability, maintenance, and handling.
Recommend improvements to production engineering on equipment design, test procedures, and documentation requirements.
Oversee the mobilization and demobilization of controls system assets.
Work alongside controls technicians in equipment builds, testing, and repairs.
Develop procedures and train service personnel on the use of system controls HMIs.
Interface with third party departments and vendors to ensure all project deliverables are met.
Perform engineering duties at customer sites, or offshore when required.

Education and Training:
o Electrical Engineering Degree from an EAC/ABET accredited program.
o IPC Training certification preferred.
Experience and Skills:
o Minimum of 2 years in Oil & Gas subsea control systems (Drilling, Completion, Production, or Intervention).
o Firm knowledge of electrical product safety.
o Knowledgeable in API 17G, 17F and other industry standards.
o Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D software.
o Proficient with Microsoft Office Systems (Word, Excel, MS Project).
