Your key job responsibilities as the Compliance Specialist in Cape Town will include:

  • Provide guidance and support to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Escalate significant compliance issues promptly leading investigations and remediation efforts
  • Establish a robust compliance and governance framework implementing controls to mitigate business risks
  • Advise on necessary controls and systems managing Commercial and Legal agreements
  • Implement relevant ACTs and regulations formulate Compliance Risk
  • Management Plans and determine statutory and management requirements
  • Identify and interpret compliance requirements assess regulatory impacts on business operations
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with standards processes and best practices
  • Design and implement compliance monitoring plans and Compliance Risk
  • Management Plans (CRMPs) as per legislation
  • Communicate efficiently with internal stakeholders ensuring comprehensive coverage of compliance risks
  • Oversee adherence to licensing conditions and codes of practice engaging with regulatory authorities as needed
  • Conduct compliance risk monitoring and maintain relationships with thirdparty entities involved in business operations
  • Review marketing materials presentations and websites for regulatory compliance

Requirements for this Compliance Specialist job in Cape Town:

  • Hold a BCom Law/LLB with a postgraduate qualification in Law
  • 5 years of experience in Legal & Compliance roles
  • Knowledge of or experience in the online gambling industry would be extremely advantageous
  • Demonstrate proficiency in engaging with thirdparty regulators and licensing bodies
  • Possess functional knowledge of relevant regulations policies and practices
  • Showcase the ability to gather collate and summarize information from various sources
  • Exhibit technical competency and expertise in compliance coupled with strong analytical skills
