Our client Sanoptis is a leading network of modern ophthalmology clinics across Europe with 300 locations 3000 employees and 400M revenue. The company was founded in 2018 and has become since then the market leader in Germany and Switzerland due to its differentiated model driven by strong organic growth and M&A success. The key differentiator of the group is its close partnership with the chief physicians of the clinics they acquire they allow the doctors to remain entrepreneurial as the doctors always keep a minority stake in their clinics and are free to choose their preferred ways of working.

Sanoptis provides guidance to drive and increase performance and offers master purchasing contracts for the members of the network but doesnt force entrepreneurshiplimiting integration.

Groupe Bruxelles Lambert (GBL) acquired the company in 2022 together with the management who significantly reinvested in the transaction. GBL is a familycontrolled investment holding company with over sixty years of stock exchange listing and a net asset value of close to EUR 20bn. As a leading and active investor in Europe GBL focuses on longterm value creation with the support of a stable shareholder base. Sanoptis and GBLs joint objective is to continue to develop their leadership position in Germany and Switzerland but also to become a panEuropean leader by expanding into new geographies (e.g. Austria Italy Spain Greece etc.).

Tasks

As the Commercial Director for South Germany at Sanoptis you will play a pivotal role in leading and optimizing the commercial operations of multiple eye clinics within South Germany. Your responsibilities will encompass strategic oversight performance management team leadership and collaboration with crossfunctional teams. Your commitment to excellence will contribute to achieving business targets enhancing patient satisfaction and fostering the growth of Sanoptis presence in the region.

Priorities will include:

  • Lead the commercial operations of multiple eye clinics within the assigned region ensuring strict adherence to Sanoptis policies procedures and quality standards.
  • Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics patient satisfaction levels and financial indicators to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and achieve business objectives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of Operations Managers overseeing individual clinics. Define performance objectives offer support conduct performance evaluations and cultivate a positive work environment that promotes effective communication and collaboration.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Country and local medical professionals to formulate regional strategic plans in alignment with Sanoptis overarching goals. Translate strategic objectives into actionable initiatives for individual clinics consistently assessing progress and making necessary adaptations.
  • Identify and capitalize on business growth opportunities within the region including the establishment of local addon practices.
  • Develop and execute effective marketing and promotional strategies to amplify patient volume and expand market share working in close coordination with the marketing team.
  • Monitor the financial performance of clinics encompassing revenue expenses and profitability. Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to develop and manage budgets financial forecasts and costcontrol measures.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with local medical practitioners facilitating their career progression and identifying opportunities for professional success.
  • Provide regular comprehensive reports and updates to the Head of Country offering insights into clinic performance notable achievements challenges and actionable recommendations.

Requirements

  • Substantial relevant work experience ideally in leadership roles such as Clinic Manager Head of Operations Head of Sales or comparable positions
  • Demonstrated capacity to excel in a dynamic environment with the ability to produce and communicate business and financial analyses at an executive level.
  • An entrepreneurial thinker and selfstarter with the ability to assume significant responsibilities and drive independent problemsolving
  • Proven track record in stakeholder management including the ability to influence without formal authority and secure a significant role in decisionmaking
  • Possesses high emotional intelligence empathy and a knack for fostering positive relationships
  • Exhibits exceptional judgment discretion and the ability to manage confidentiality effectively
  • Strong organizational and process management skills
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity meticulous attention to detail and a fervent passion for innovative problemsolving
  • Experience in the healthcare sector is advantageous
  • A collaborative team player with an exemplary work ethic who leads by example
  • Native Germanspeaking skill (or similar level) are a must in combination with a good command of English

Reports and Organization Structure

Direct reporting line to the Head of Germany. Close collaboration with clinics head physicians and the regional manager as well as a CoCEO of the clinic.

Location

This role is based in Dsseldorf or surroundings with occasional travel to clinics and practices across NRW.
