College Admissions Essay Editor Summer Contract

The Enrichery is a comprehensive education company that offers college admissions guidance professional development programs test preparation and academic coaching. Every summer we offer College Admissions Workshops that help rising seniors with every step of the college admissions process with a large emphasis on writing admissions essays and personal statements. Our coaches and outside editors ensure students present the best versions of themselves through unique essay topics and polished prose.

Job Description

We are looking to hire contract editors to remotely support our College Admissions Workshop coaches through editing their students essays behind the scenes. The editor role is crucial to the success of our summer College Admissions Workshop as our students will be submitting drafts of their essays to our outside editors for immediate turnaround during weeknight afternoons and evenings.

Our editing needs will be the highest between June 3rd to August 9th with some additional editing required throughout August while students complete any final essays. This is a great summer job for English teachers or anyone who has previously worked at a college writing lab or writing center.

Requirements

• Bachelor s in English literature creative writing communication studies journalism or any relevant field
  

• Must be excellent in writing editing and proofreading
  

• Strong attention to detail and grammatical knowledge with a proven ability to understand and respond to an essay prompt
  

• Works well independently and with little supervision; effectively implements daily feedback quickly
  

• Firm understanding of Google Suite including Google Drive and Google Docs
  

• Knowledge of college admissions process and popular essay prompts (preferred but not required)
  

• Evening availability and flexibility to be able to turn around documents quickly (documents expected to be returned by next business day)
  

Additional details:

• Interviewees may be asked to complete an editing test during the interview process
  

• Must attend a 4 hour training session (virtually or in our office)
  

• *This is an independent contractor position that is billed biweekly
