Overview:
The CNC Operator plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process by ensuring the efficient operation of computer numerical control (CNC) machines. They are responsible for interpreting blueprints setting up the machines and monitoring the production process to ensure precision and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for setting and safe machine operation of CNC 5 Axis Gantry CNC
machine for machining composite moulds and parts.
Set machine according to Process Plans Fixtures and Tooling List
Ensure correct offsets and work coordinate systems are used
Set Chuck and Jaws to ensure security and accuracy of parts
Build tooling systematically ensuring correct parts and inserts are
used
Monitor cutting of machine to ensure quality of parts
Carry out routine predefined preventative maintenance tasks on the
machine such as lubricants extraction system.
Reporting on success and areas that need improvement
Notify management of any repair or maintenance issues
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Technical School
- 510 years of experience within the field of Production on similar CNC
- machines.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of precision engineered manufacture within a precision
- manufacturing environment.
- Experience of 5 Axis Gantry CNC machines such as CMS MX5 Belotti
- an advantage.
- Experience of Siemens and Fanuc Controls
- Self motivated and the ability to work well in a Team.
- Conflict management.
