Civil Construction Manager

We are looking for a Civil Construction Managerto join our HVDC Construction and Commissioning team. The project consists of an extrahighvoltage direct current (HVDC) transmission link between Wilster in SchleswigHolstein and Bergrheinfeld in Bavaria. The project ensures the efficient transport of energy between the windy north and the sunny south.

As a Civil Construction Manager you will accompany and manage the construction activities in building construction and civil engineering. These tasks start from the preparation of the construction site to the actual installation of the highvoltage equipment of the HVDC converter station.

Your Responsibilities

• You will manage all construction work on site in coordination with the project execution schedule. Costefficient execution of project deliverables in accordance with contract specifications quality standards and ensuring safety requirements are the top priorities
• You plan and coordinate all construction building and civil engineering work
• During the contract negotiations you will assist with specific technical and operational requirements for the subcontractor contracts
• You will be responsible for the organization and management of the construction team for the structural and civil engineering work on the construction site
• You will check the list of open items after completion of construction and manage the transfer of knowledge to the departments
• Participate and/or lead construction site meetings on building and civil engineering as required with the customer subcontractors and Hitachi Energy colleagues

Your Background

• You have a bachelors or masters degree in civil engineering or a related field
• You are enthusiastic about working in an international and multicultural working environment
• You have experience in industrial projects with in the energy sector
• You are characterized by strong negotiation skills and are very communicative
• Flexibility and openmindedness are important qualities to be successful in this position
• You are fluent in German and English
• Willingness to work onsite on site
