Overview:

The Career Counsellor (Admission Partners) role is vital in providing guidance and support to students seeking higher education opportunities. This position plays a crucial role in helping students navigate the college or university admissions process identify suitable programs and make informed decisions about their academic and career paths. The Career Counsellor will collaborate with admission partners to ensure students receive comprehensive support and guidance to effectively plan and achieve their educational and career goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide career counseling to students to assist them in making wellinformed decisions about their education and career paths
  • Acquiring students who are looking for admission to higher education
  • Work as a channel partner with Mentorsity
  • Collaborate with admission partners to ensure a seamless transition for students into higher education programs
  • Conduct oneonone sessions with students to assess their career interests skills and abilities
  • Offer guidance on selecting suitable academic programs colleges and universities based on students interests and qualifications
  • Develop and deliver workshops seminars and information sessions on college admissions program selection and career planning
  • Stay updated with current trends and requirements in higher education admissions
  • Assist students in preparing for standardized tests and entrance exams
  • Address students concerns and queries related to the admissions process and academic programs
  • Create and maintain resources related to college admissions financial aid and scholarships
  • Support students in creating compelling application materials including resumes personal statements and recommendation letters
  • Monitor and track students progress and outcomes postadmission
  • Collaborate with academic advisors faculty and other stakeholders to enhance student support services
  • Participate in outreach activities to promote college access and awareness
  • Utilize technology and online resources to provide virtual counseling and information sessions
  • Contribute to the development of career counseling and admissions policies and procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in counseling education psychology or related field
  • Proven experience in college admissions counseling or related field
  • Strong understanding of college and university admissions processes and requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to empathize and connect with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of career assessment tools and resources
  • Familiarity with academic program offerings and curriculum structures
  • Proficiency in using online resources and counseling platforms
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Experience in developing and delivering educational workshops or seminars
  • Familiarity with financial aid and scholarship opportunities
  • Understanding of student development theories and counseling techniques
  • Certification in career counseling or related field is a plus
  • Adherence to ethical guidelines and confidentiality in counseling practice
