Calibration Engineer Electrical

Location: Chesterfield

Monday Friday 40 Hours per Week

Salary: 25000 to 32000

25 Days Holiday Plus Bank Holidays


The right candidate needs to have experience working in the field of metrology and calibration activities preferably within a UKAS accredited laboratory.

We are looking for an experienced Calibration engineer to join our UKAS lab in Chesterfield.

Responsibilitiesinclude;

  • Responsible to the Calibration Business Unit Manager shall ensure that Electrical laboratory activities are carried out expediently efficiently and safely at all times.
  • Perform the calibrations in the Laboratory or at Customer premises as necessary.
  • Sign UKAS Certificates (if Applicable).
  • Assist with maintaining laboratory maintenance.
  • Produce and maintain Laboratory procedures and uncertainty budgets.
  • Use the preferred software in accordance with company procedures to ensure the correct processing of items through the Laboratory.
  • Liaise with customers to understand and satisfy their requirements in a professional manner.
  • Engage in laboratory progression.
  • Maintain electronic filing system.
  • Any other general calibration / laboratory duties.
  • Be aware of and comply with the company Health and Safety policies at all times.
  • Be aware of and comply with the company Quality Manual at all times.
  • Commitment to Impartiality & Confidentiality


Experience

  • Education / training in Electrical Engineering.
  • Relevant training in metrology and calibration activities.
  • Experience working in a UKAS accredited laboratory.
  • Experience working within the field of metrology.
  • Understanding of BS ISO 17025.


Skill Set

  • Hands on calibration experience for Electrical (Digital Multimeters Electrical Installation Instruments Pressure Instruments Temperature Instruments).
  • Ability to review and adopt best practice and seek out continuous improvement.
  • Able to train coach and mentor other members of the team to support the laboratory.
  • IT Literate including Microsoft Office.
  • Keen to learn new skills.
  • Work well within a team and individually.
