Pay Rate $40.00/ hr.
Summary
- The Buyer uses expertise in performing a variety of purchasing activities including pricing negotiating terms volume discounts longterm contracts and delivery of services with suppliers. Applies government laws and regulations while conducting procurement activities and ensures alignment with management objectives.
- Review MRP (SAP) order action messages maintain schedule and visibility and identify and resolve issues until shipment. Generate work orders and issue purchase orders based on MRP (SAP) messages. Negotiate prices and deliveries that are consistent with schedule needs.
- Process changes rescheduled and outside processing are required to accomplish the production schedule goals.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by achieving ontime deliveries of quality products. Follow through on special requests and expedites. Identify potential late deliveries and plan recovery. Prioritize material handling from receipt to shipment based on schedule requirements and department workload.

Finance and Budgetary Oversight
Minimum Qualifications
- Education Level: (Required): Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience in the production control field including material/inventory management in a defense or aerospace environment.
Skills Knowledge and Abilities
- Requires excellent planning organizational and motivational skills.
- Knowledge of the MRP (SAP) system is a must
- General knowledge of machine shop practices and processing standards is helpful.
- Knowledge of military spares standards is helpful.
- Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel and Computerized MRP system
- Requires strong interpersonal communication (written and verbal) with a positive attitude and ability to motivate others.
- Have the ability to prioritize workload and complete tasks on a timely basis.
- Have the ability to maintain flexibility and be adaptable to the everchanging needs of the company.
