Armed Security Officer

Essential Functions

1. Report writing foot patrols vehicle patrols maintaining a professional demeanor that reflects positively on the organization and fostering a strong partnership between the client and DMS within the community.
   

1. Expected to maintain a high level of awareness observe and report activities handle crisis situations calmly and effectively deescalate conflicts using verbal communication techniques and manage useofforce situations safely and judiciously including selfdefense defense of a third party and arrest control.
   

These responsibilities may necessitate work in various weather including extreme heat extreme cold or blizzard conditions.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment

This position may require the employee to be inside or outside. Employee may work in unsafe working conditions (i.e. construction zones (PPE will be provided if needed) open areas areas with potential safety risks.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to lift office products occasionally and supplies up to 20 pounds and to bend and stand as necessary.

Ability to work in various environments including inclement weather occasional lifting or carrying of up to 40 pounds climbing stairs ramps or ladders as needed and standing or walking on various surfaces for extended periods.

Required Education and Experience

1. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
   

1. Pass a preemployment Drug Screen.
   

1. Must complete and successfully pass DMSs 40hour training and firearms courses.
   

1. Pass an FBI and or CBI Background check yearly.
   

1. Maintain an Armed Denver Merchant Guard License.
   

1. Effective written oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
   

1. Ability to handle crises calmly and efficiently.
   

1. Reliable transportation to commute to job sites across the Denver metro area.
   

1. All officers are required to wear DMS uniforms at all job posts which will be provided on your hiring date ensuring that each officer is equipped with the appropriate uniform for every season.
   

1. At least 3 years of previous security experience.
   

1. Must have a flexible schedule.
   

1. At least 1 year of armed security experience.
   

1. 3 years of security experience (unarmed).
   

1. Possess an Armed Denver Merchant Guard License.
   

1. Possess a valid CPR certification.
   

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

1. Will be required to pass a physical and mental health screening.
   

1. Officers must possess a valid drivers license and reliable transportation up to an hour away without public transportation.
   

1. Must be eligible for and willing to obtain an Armed Denver Merchant Guard License.
   

1. Must be willing to obtain and maintain a valid CPR Certification.
   

Employee must be authorized to work in the United States and must possess a valid driver s license.
