Our client, a promotional products company being launched by a successful business executive, is hiring an Accounting Manager / Program Manager to join their growing Toronto office. The founder has 40 years experience and has launched two previous very successful companies in this space.

Salary:
$60,000 - $70,000 per year (depending upon experience)
Additional flexibility, plus equity, could be possible for the right candidate.

Monday to Friday, Days

Responsibilities
Accounting/Bookkeeping (2/3 of position)
- Overall responsibility for the full-cycle accounting/bookkeeping.
- Prepare and reconcile bank statements, general ledgers and balance sheets.
- Compile budget data and documents. Prepare budget forecasts.
- Issue and track electronic transfers, cheques and other payments.
- Calculate, process and pay HST returns with the CRA.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payables and accounts receivables.
- Process payroll on regular basis.
- Perform quarterly and year-end semi-formal closing procedures for submission to external accountant.
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary.
- Comply with financial policies and regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding to client inquiries and resolving any accounting-related issues.
Program Management/Administration (1/3 of position)
- Manage large corporate accounts and online internal corporate portals/stores for promotional products.
- Working closely with logistics company related to anything accounting, including invoicing paperwork, cross-referencing and auditing.
- Monitor demand and analyzes inventory data to anticipate future supply and logistical needs.
- Coordinating around industry related events periodically.
- Respond to customer inquiries and maintain good relationships with customers, vendors and logistics.
- Ensure renewals of insurance and other business requirements.
- Maintain effective storage of data, both electronic and physical filing (as needed).
- General office management/administration.
Requirements
- University degree or College diploma in Accounting or Business is an asset.
- 1-3 years of Accounting related experience is a MUST.
- Experience in program or inventory management is a strong asset.
- A background in the promotional products industry is an asset.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Must have hands-on working experience with Quickbooks (online or desktop)
- Strong command of the English language (verbal and written)
- Ability to accurately analyze and reconcile accounts.
- Thorough understanding of accounting regulations and procedures.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- High level of attention to detail combined with strong organization and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Flexibility to work with changing priorities.
