As the successful candidate you will beable to connect the dots between what s going on in the business and what s happening in finance to help improve operations. You will be able to review and question situations on the fly and your keen eye for detail will help management see potential problems and highlight successes to celebrate. The successful team member will be responsible for:
- Full cycle bookkeeping;
- Accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll;
- Remittances including, WorkSafe BC, BC Employer Health Tax, GST filings;
- A/P & A/R;
- Bank and credit card reconciliations;
- Collaborating with the CFO working on high value finance projects including profitability analysis, cash flow management, projections, budgeting, etc;
- Preparing timely management month end reports as requested;
- Ensuring established finance workflows are being followed consistently;
- Supporting other day to day accounting requirements.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 5 years of recent related bookkeeping or accounting experience;
- Prior experience working within a manufacturing company would be an asset in this role;
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (due to the use of their accounting system, many of the tedious tasks normally associated with bookkeeping have been removed, i.e., data entry and manually reconciling bank accounts);
- Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision;
- Effective oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment;
- Ability to handle data with confidentiality and integrity;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Well organized with strong attention to detail, accuracy and analytical thinking.
