As an Account Payable Specialist you will play a key role in the overall success of our client s controlling company spend. The role of Accounts Payable Specialist involves providing financial administrative and clerical support to the organization. Their role is to complete payments and control expenses by receiving payments plus processing verifying and reconciling invoices.

• At minimum an associates degree in Accounting or related field
  
• 35 years of experience with collections invoicing and/or accounts payable (with US experience)
  
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  
• Knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principles
  
• Strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  
• Ability to analyze large sets of data
  
• Proficient in any accounting software or similar SMB accounting software
  

Desired Skills:

• Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Bookkeeping
  
• Experience managing vendor relationships
  
• Basic understanding of a CRM
  
• Proficient in AP coding tool and expense reports
  

• Keeping track of all payments and expenditures including purchase orders invoices statements etc.
  
• Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
  
• Maintaining historical records
  
• Assist accounting in verifying expense reports and preparing reimbursable checks
  
• Paying vendors by scheduling checks and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit; generally responding to all vendor inquiries regarding finance
  
• Preparing analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports
  
• Continuing to improve the payment process using automation and improved processing practices
  
• Contacting vendors for payment resolution
  
• Resolving payment discrepancies
  
• Code invoices into the correct GL accounts and classes
  
• Process accounts receivable transactions
  
• Evaluate the current policies and recommend process improvements
  
• Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
  
• Provide support for internal and external audits
  
• Perform account reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner
  
• Maintain accurate vendor records
  
• Perform quarterly audits
