Are you a passionate individual looking to gain valuable experience in the field of social work Our school district in Illinois is seeking a dedicated Social Worker Intern to join our team. This internship offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals providing support to students families and school staff while gaining handson experience in a school setting. As a Social Worker Intern you will have the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students while developing your skills and knowledge in social work practice.
**Responsibilities:**
Assist School Social Workers in conducting individual and group counseling sessions to address social emotional and behavioral concerns impacting students academic performance and overall wellbeing.
Collaborate with teachers administrators and other school personnel to develop and implement strategies for supporting students social and emotional development within the school environment.
Provide support during crisis intervention and critical incidents under the supervision of licensed professionals.
Assist in conducting assessments and screenings to identify students needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
Support advocacy efforts for students rights and access to resources including mental health services and community supports.
Participate in workshops presentations and trainings for students families and school staff on topics related to mental health conflict resolution and social skills development.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions progress notes and service delivery.

Requirements
Enrolled in a Masters degree program in Social Work from an accredited institution.
Eligible for internship placement as required by your academic program.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for working with children and families.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to cultural competence equity and social justice in working with diverse populations.
