Locum MD (Medical Doctor) Cardiothoracic Surgery

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures with precision and care
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative evaluations
• Collaborate with surgical teams and healthcare staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions
• Stay updated on advancements in cardiothoracic surgical techniques
• Educate patients and families about surgical procedures and recovery
• Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and medical regulations

Requirements

• MD degree from an accredited medical school
• Completion of a residency in cardiothoracic surgery
• Valid medical license to practice in the state of San Juan
• Strong clinical skills and proficiency in cardiothoracic procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
• Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement
• Prior experience in a locum tenens or contract role is preferred

• Flexible Scheduling: Mondays & Wednesdays call
• Weeknight weekday and weekend call shifts available
• Setting: Outpatient inpatient ED and OR
• Patient Census: 8 per shift
• EMR: CPRS
• Must be board-certified or board-eligible
• Paid travel & expenses
