In this role you will work alongside a talented team of healthcare professionals performing complex cardiothoracic procedures and managing pre-operative and post-operative care for patients. Your expertise will play a crucial part in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients making a significant impact in the community.
Responsibilities
- Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures with precision and care
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative evaluations
- Collaborate with surgical teams and healthcare staff to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions
- Stay updated on advancements in cardiothoracic surgical techniques
- Educate patients and families about surgical procedures and recovery
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and medical regulations
Requirements
- MD degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of a residency in cardiothoracic surgery
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of San Juan
- Strong clinical skills and proficiency in cardiothoracic procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement
- Prior experience in a locum tenens or contract role is preferred
- Flexible Scheduling: Mondays & Wednesdays call
- Weeknight weekday and weekend call shifts available
- Setting: Outpatient inpatient ED and OR
- Patient Census: 8 per shift
- EMR: CPRS
- Must be board-certified or board-eligible
- Paid travel & expenses
