As a Locum Medical Oncologist you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating patients with cancer working closely with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert diagnosis and treatment for patients with various types of cancer
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop personalized treatment plans
- Conduct patient consultations and follow-up appointments
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies
- Administer chemotherapy and other treatments as necessary
- Educate patients and families about treatment options and cancer management
- Document patient information accurately in medical records
- Participate in tumor board meetings and clinical trials as needed
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certification in Medical Oncology
- Active medical license in the state of practice
- Experience in oncology care and treatment protocols
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care
- Flexible Schedule: 8a-5p
- No call requirement
- Setting: Inpatient and outpatient
- Daily Volume: 6 inpatients 4-6 outpatients
- Case Types: All tumors including benign
- No liquid/malignant cases including leukemia
- Support Staff: Other physicians APPs and clinic nurses
- Must be board-certified
- Paid travel & expenses
