Head of Commercial

Job Description

A leading organisation is recruiting for a Head of Commercial to drive and oversee the commercial strategy across Credit Insurance and Value Added Services product pillars. This strategic leadership role is suited to a highly analytical and commercially astute professional who can identify market opportunities influence key stakeholders and deliver sustainable profitability within a complex financial services environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute commercial strategies that support revenue growth and profitability targets across the financial services vertical.
• Analyse market trends competitor activity and customer insights to identify opportunities risks and new product development initiatives.
• Monitor commercial performance KPIs operating metrics and financial outcomes presenting insights to executive leadership.
• Lead budgeting financial planning and overall commercial performance management.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to optimise profitability across Credit Insurance and Value Added Services portfolios.
• Oversee commercial agreements pricing structures compliance requirements and risk considerations within the business.
• Drive market research initiatives and partner with BI and Risk teams to improve customer profitability and commercial decision-making.
• Lead mentor and develop the Commercial team to ensure strong performance succession planning and business continuity.

Requirements:

• Relevant postgraduate (SA) qualification will be advantageous.
• Minimum of 10 years senior management experience within Banking and/or Financial Services.
• At least 7 years experience within Credit and Insurance environments.
• Insurance accreditations such as RE1 and RE5 will be beneficial.
• Strong commercial acumen with deep expertise across multiple specialist areas within financial services.
• Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at executive operational and external partner level.
• Strong analytical strategic planning and leadership capabilities.
