Our client a leading electrical wholesaler requires a technical business analyst for their Midrand branch to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions by analysing requirements designing functional specifications and managing the delivery of IT and digital transformation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis and Requirements Gathering- Engage business units (Procurement Sales Finance Operations) to understand and document business processes and pain points.
- Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications.
- Develop use cases user stories process maps and data flow diagrams.
- Analyse and model current vs. future state processes to identify automation and optimization opportunities.
Technical and Systems Analysis- Evaluate and document integration needs across ERP BI WMS and cloud platforms.
- Collaborate with developers and systems architects to design feasible scalable solutions.
- Validate system designs against business requirements.
Project Management- Support or lead IT project planning and execution including scoping scheduling and budgeting.
- Manage small-to-medium sized IT initiatives end-to-end
- Track progress manage risks/issues and report on milestones.
- Work with external vendors and internal teams to coordinate deliverables.
Testing and Quality Assurance
- Define test scenarios coordinate UAT and validate outputs against expected outcomes.
- Work with QA resources to ensure issues are logged tracked and resolved.
Change Management and Support- Support training and onboarding of users to new systems and processes.
- Act as a subject matter expert for implemented tools and platforms.
- Develop documentation SOPs and support guides.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Information Systems Computer Science Engineering Business or related field.
- Project management certification (Agile PMP PRINCE2) is a strong plus.
- 35 years in business analysis or systems analysis within IT environments.
- Experience in managing or coordinating technical projects.
- Familiarity with ERP systems databases APIs and BI/reporting tools.
- Proficient in requirements gathering and documentation (BPMN/UML/BRD formats).
- Strong SQL/data analysis skills or exposure to tools like Qlik Power BI or Tableau.
- Good understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC Agile).
- Confident stakeholder engagement and presentation abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organisational skills.
