Te Kura Tatauranga The Department of Statistics offers a broad spectrum of statistics teaching and research. We are recognised internationally for our strong statistics education and as the birthplace of the statistical computing programme R.

We are currently looking for a Professional Teaching Fellow in Data Science to join our Statistics department where you will be responsible for developing and delivering innovative and high-quality teaching at all levels of our undergraduate and postgraduate courses in statistics with an emphasis on data particular the successful candidate will join the team responsible for the organisation and delivery of our large scale first year courses in addition the role will include teaching in-person short courses in Data Science at our partner universities in China.

You will be encouraged to investigate novel strategies and technologies to enhance student learning and engagement to support diverse styles of teaching and learning and delivery of high-quality course materials.

This is a full-time (40 hrs per week) permanent role

The remuneration range is $107016 - $117208 per annum dependent on skills and experience

You will have a PhD (awarded or anticipated in near future) in Statistics or in a closely related subject with a demonstrated knowledge of postgraduate level statistics. You should also have a demonstrated track-record in teaching applied statistics and/or statistical aspects of data science.
