Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer Consultant to support and maintain a complex statewide enterprise network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies firewall administration network troubleshooting and security best practices in a large-scale environment.

This role requires a highly skilled professional capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while collaborating across technical teams to maintain secure stable and high-performing network operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure install maintain and upgrade enterprise networking solutions
• Manage and support network infrastructure including routers switches firewalls VPNs and wireless networks
• Troubleshoot network failures connectivity issues and performance bottlenecks
• Perform network analysis design implementation and ongoing support
• Monitor network performance and ensure optimal system availability
• Maintain accurate network diagrams and technical documentation
• Support secure network operations through cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards
• Troubleshoot and remediate issues in a complex voice-integrated infrastructure
• Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to resolve issues efficiently
• Provide knowledge transfer and informal technical guidance to peers when appropriate
• Implement updates patches and configuration changes to maintain secure and compliant systems

Candidates should have experience working with technologies such as:

• Cisco/Meraki
• Palo Alto
• Fortinet/FortiGate
• Certes
• Citrix NetScaler
• Trellix

Required Skills & Experience

• 10 years of experience with Cisco Firewalls
• 10 years of experience with Cisco Routers
• 10 years of experience with Cisco Switches
• 10 years of experience with Cisco VPN technologies
• 10 years of experience with Cisco Administration
• 5 years of experience with Palo Alto Firewalls
• 2 years of experience with Palo Alto XDR
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to support multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Skills

• 10 years of experience with monitoring and tracing tools
• 10 years of experience in core network architecture
• 10 years of advanced routing and switching troubleshooting experience
• 4 years of experience with wireless network infrastructure
• 3 years of experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure

Preferred Certifications

• CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
• CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
