Job Summary
Parkland Health Careers is seeking a full-time Staff Physician Internal Medicine (Health Equity and Value Based Care Faculty) to join its innovative Value-Based Care Clinic in Dallas Texas serving as core faculty for the Internal Medicine Health Equity Track while providing high-quality evidence-based population-centered care and mentoring Internal Medicine residents in a collaborative academic learning environment focused on health equity quality improvement and community-centered medicine.
Teaching & Educational Leadership
- Serve as core faculty for the Internal Medicine Health Equity Track
- Supervise Internal Medicine residents in a clinic-based experiential learning environment
- Provide real-time clinical teaching in:
- Primary care
- Population health
- Value-based care
- Health equity-focused practice
- Teach residents to integrate:
- Social determinants of health
- Community-engaged care approaches
- Equity-centered clinical decision making
- Participate in:
- Journal clubs
- Lecture series
- Case conferences
- Resident workshops
- Mentor residents in:
- Quality improvement initiatives
- Health equity research
- Scholarly activities/projects
- Collaborate with residency and program leadership to develop and improve curriculum aligned with:
- ACGME competencies
- Parkland priorities
- Provide formative and summative feedback to residents to support professional growth
- Deliver comprehensive Internal Medicine care within the Value-Based Care Clinic
- Utilize evidence-based guidelines and value-based care principles
- Help establish and refine value-based standard practices for the clinic
- Use:
- Population health tools
- Risk stratification
- Care coordination strategies
- Improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare disparities
- Identify and address non-medical drivers of health impacting patient care
- Deliver coordinated team-based care alongside:
- Care managers
- Pharmacists
- Social workers
- Behavioral health specialists
- Community partners
- Partner collaboratively with Graduate Medical Education personnel at both Parkland and UT Southwestern
- Provide compassionate and effective care for complex adult patients
- Model equitable and high-value care for residents
- Maintain current expertise in:
- Internal Medicine
- Health equity science
- Value-based care frameworks
- Integrate evidence-based medicine into both patient care and teaching
- Participate in quality improvement projects
- Mentor residents in QI methodology
- Use performance and outcomes data to improve clinical and educational performance
- Support operational plans and coordinated care delivery
- Help improve clinical processes and operating standards
- Address complex clinical regulatory and operational challenges
- Influence clinical practice standards and departmental initiatives
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care management teams
- Demonstrate advanced communication leadership innovation and problem-solving skills

Requirement description : ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SHOULD BE NOTED IN ADDITIONAL SUBMISSION DETAILS. REQUIRED PRIOR TO CLIENT PRESENTATION UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED
- Completion of ACGME or AMA approved residency REQUIRED no exceptions
- Board Eligible/ Board Certified in appropriate specialty REQUIRED
- Texas Medical License (or willingness to obtain) REQUIRED
- At least one professional reference within 24 months - REQUIRED
- Clean malpractice and license history HIGHLY PREFERRED
- Experience in medical education health equity population health or value-based care HIGHLY PREFERRED
- Interest in resident education and academic medicine - REQUIRED
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary care environment - REQUIRED
