Field Application Scientist – XRF
Location: Singapore
A global technology organization supporting advanced semiconductor and materials characterization environments is seeking a hands-on Field Application Scientist to support customer-facing application development and technical engagements focused on XRF-based metrology solutions.
This role will work closely with customers internal engineering teams and regional stakeholders to support tool qualification application optimization data analysis and technical problem-solving within advanced manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support installation qualification and ramp-up activities for advanced XRF metrology systems
- Develop optimize and troubleshoot application recipes based on customer process requirements
- Analyze experimental and production data to improve measurement performance and application stability
- Serve as the technical interface for customer application-related discussions
- Support evaluations technical studies and collaborative development projects with customers
- Work closely with regional and global technical teams to resolve complex application challenges
- Contribute to application capability development and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Master’s degree or PhD in Physics Chemistry Materials Science Electrical Engineering Chemical Engineering or related disciplines
- Experience supporting advanced capital equipment semiconductor tools or analytical instrumentation environments
- Strong hands-on experience with XRF technology is required
- Background in semiconductor metrology thin films coatings materials characterization or related applications is advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to interpret technical data
- Familiarity with data analysis tools or scripting languages such as Python MATLAB or VBA is advantageous
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
