A busy acute-care facility is seeking a compassionate and dependable Patient Care Technician to join its nursing support team. This role is responsible for providing hands-on patient support assisting clinical staff and helping maintain a safe clean and welcoming care environment.
The ideal candidate is patient-focused reliable and comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital or clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with preparation mobility transfers positioning and comfort during care and recovery
- Provide basic non-medicated patient care including hygiene support dressing assistance skin protection and use of supportive devices
- Monitor patients and promptly report changes in condition behavior or comfort level to nursing staff
- Support nurses and clinical team members with routine patient care tasks
- Keep patient rooms hallways and common areas clean organized and well-stocked
- Manage supplies equipment and environmental logs to support infection control and safety standards
- Follow facility procedures related to patient privacy safety documentation and infection prevention
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients families nurses and other healthcare team members
- Help create a positive professional and compassionate patient care experience
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Active HIPAA compliance credential/ training required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification BCLS/BLS required or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate dependable and patient-centered approach
- Ability to work in a fast-paced acute-care or hospital environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail
- Commitment to patient privacy safety and quality care
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Patient Care Technician Nursing Assistant CNA Patient Care Assistant or similar direct patient care role
- Experience working in a hospital acute-care rehabilitation long-term care or clinical setting
- Familiarity with patient mobility support transfers basic care tasks and infection control procedures
