Job Summary

A busy acute-care facility is seeking a compassionate and dependable Patient Care Technician to join its nursing support team. This role is responsible for providing hands-on patient support assisting clinical staff and helping maintain a safe clean and welcoming care environment.

The ideal candidate is patient-focused reliable and comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital or clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with preparation mobility transfers positioning and comfort during care and recovery
  • Provide basic non-medicated patient care including hygiene support dressing assistance skin protection and use of supportive devices
  • Monitor patients and promptly report changes in condition behavior or comfort level to nursing staff
  • Support nurses and clinical team members with routine patient care tasks
  • Keep patient rooms hallways and common areas clean organized and well-stocked
  • Manage supplies equipment and environmental logs to support infection control and safety standards
  • Follow facility procedures related to patient privacy safety documentation and infection prevention
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients families nurses and other healthcare team members
  • Help create a positive professional and compassionate patient care experience

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Active HIPAA compliance credential/ training required
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification BCLS/BLS required or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate dependable and patient-centered approach
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced acute-care or hospital environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail
  • Commitment to patient privacy safety and quality care

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Patient Care Technician Nursing Assistant CNA Patient Care Assistant or similar direct patient care role
  • Experience working in a hospital acute-care rehabilitation long-term care or clinical setting
  • Familiarity with patient mobility support transfers basic care tasks and infection control procedures
