Position Overview
A leading healthcare organization in Craig Colorado is seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist to join its Diagnostic Imaging team. This role is responsible for performing high-quality mammography procedures while ensuring patient safety regulatory compliance and exceptional patient care within the womens imaging department.
The Mammography Technologist will also support quality assurance initiatives equipment maintenance coordination workflow efficiency and departmental operations related to breast imaging services.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Imaging & Patient Care
- Perform high-quality mammography imaging procedures for diagnostic interpretation
- Verify patient identification obtain required history and provide exam education
- Ensure patient comfort safety and confidentiality throughout procedures
- Practice radiation safety in accordance with ALARA standards
- Follow FDA regulations and departmental imaging protocols
- Maintain accurate imaging documentation and patient records
Department Operations & Quality Assurance
- Support daily workflow operations within the breast imaging department
- Perform daily quality assurance checks and assist with equipment maintenance coordination
- Maintain accreditation documentation and inspection readiness
- Ensure accurate reporting and audit documentation
- Troubleshoot imaging equipment issues and coordinate service support as needed
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records within EHR RIS and PACS systems
- Ensure compliance with hospital state and federal regulatory requirements
- Adhere to infection control safety and risk management protocols
- Protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
Collaboration & Team Support
- Assist with staff training and cross-training initiatives
- Support scheduling clerical functions and patient coordination when needed
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives
- Provide support across additional imaging modalities when applicable
Required Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
Licensure & Certifications
- Current ARRT certification in Radiography (R)
- Current ARRT Mammography certification (M)
- Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Active state licensure required
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Radiologic Technologist experience preferred
- Mammography experience required
- Cross-training in CT MRI or DEXA preferred
- Experience with PACS and RIS/HIS systems preferred
