Consultant Transport Planner Scotland

Role description:

Our Scotland Transport Planning team are recruiting for a Transport Plannerto drive projects and support our team to help our client clients to deliver their objectives and outcomes. A key focus for the role will be boosting our STAG assessment and strategic transport planning capability in Scotland.

The Transport Planning team is involved in some of the UKs most high profile complex and stimulating transport and development projects that are diverse and technically demanding. We have an enviable reputation in the delivery of some of the UKs and indeed the worlds most prestigious and challenging projects.

Our client portfolio includes the City of Edinburgh Council Glasgow City Council Homes England HS2 and national housebuilders architects planners land promoters and property developers.

The range and scale of Arcadis also provides the Transport Planning team the opportunity to work on a diverse range of multi-disciplinary projects through other parts of the business including Buildings Environment Manufacturing Technology and Local Government.

Role accountabilities:

Our Transport Planning service includes:

• Multimodal Transport Strategy Development

• Future mobility strategies

• Business Case preparation and advice

• Funding bid preparation and advice

• Multimodal modelling and scheme appraisal

• Pedestrian modelling and urban space design

• Scheme Concept and Feasibility

• Master planning Input and Advice

• Travel demand management and behavioural change strategies

• Sustainable and Active Travel inputs

• Planning Application support

• Public Consultation and Expert Witness

• Local Plan preparation and evidence base

• Local operational modelling and access design

The Transport Planning team operates across the UK with a presence in Glasgow and Edinburgh in Scotland the South East Midlands North of England as well as offices in require a proven Transport Planner to join our growing team in the Scotland to work on existing and upcoming projects.

This is an exciting time to join a growing team with significant opportunities for to work in parallel with the broader Arcadis placemaking offer together with wide range of internal and external clients.

You should be experienced in working on a range of transport planning projects ideally focussing on strategic transport projects across Scotland with experience in both the private and public sectors. Educated to degree level or above preferably in transport planning or traffic engineering. We are seeking a motivated individual confident at communicating and presenting to internal and external clients.

The successful individual should have a rounded skill set in transport planning work together with experience in public consultation transport modelling and report writing.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience in transport planning and strategy development.

• Experience of working in large multi-disciplinary teams.

• Able to support on producing quality bids.

• Experience developing technical outputs.

• Excellent report writing and communication skills.

• Excellent organisational skills.
