Job Description
- Provide strategic legal advice and guidance on a wide range of corporate commercial and business law matters both domestic and international
- Advise on complex corporate transactions contracts and commercial agreements
- Support mergers and acquisitions joint ventures strategic partnerships and infrastructure projects
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations affecting the health sciences and life sciences industry
- Identify assess and mitigate legal and regulatory risks while supporting business initiatives
- Supervise and manage external legal counsel and coordinate crossfunctional legal projects
- Oversee intellectual property matters including patents and trademarks
- Manage the legal budget and relationships with external counsel
- Deliver practical businessfocused legal solutions in a highly transactional environment
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree and admission to the Law Society of Ontario
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant legal experience preferably within the health sciences or life sciences sector
- Strong knowledge of corporate commercial and applicable regulatory law
- Experience with international legal matters and familiarity with U.S. EU and U.K. legal systems is an asset
- Excellent communication negotiation analytical and drafting skills
- Proven ability to work independently and provide pragmatic legal advice aligned with business objectives
