Residential Support Worker – Mental Health & Addictions

If you have experience supporting clients in residential mental health or addictions settings and youre available full-time or part-time starting May 20 HealthOPM has contract roles open now in Brockville Ontario.

These positions provide contingency coverage in residential programs during a potential labour disruption. Shifts are available days and nights and the work is fast-paced hands-on and structured. Staff should be prepared to work in environments where peaceful protest or picket line activity may be present.

Pay: $23$25/hour depending on experience and location

Who Were Looking For

Candidates with a background in any of the following:

• Residential support group home or psychiatric settings
• Mental health addictions or concurrent disorders programs
• Developmental services behavioural support or community services
• SSW CYW DSW Nursing Health Sciences or a related program
• Any healthcare or human services program minimum 2 years completed

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support to clients in a residential mental health and addictions setting
• Assist clients with daily living personal routines and programming
• Deliver behavioural and emotional support across shifts
• Assist with medication prompting and documentation
• Maintain a safe stable environment in a residential setting

Role Details

• Start: Orientation May 20 in Brockville Ontario
• Type: Full-time short-term contract
• Shifts: 8-hour and 12-hour day and night rotations
• Pay: $23$25/hour
• Mileage reimbursement available

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years completed in a healthcare social services or human services program
• Residential mental health or addictions experience or placement an asset
• Current CPR/First Aid
• Vulnerable Sector Check required prior to placement
• Drivers licence and vehicle preferred for some assignments
• Must be comfortable working in a labour disruption environment
