Technician-Video Monitoring-PRN

Provides virtual observation of selected patients to promote and protect the patients safety as directedand in accordance with BMHCC policies and procedure. Performs other duties as assigned. Works undersupervision of a nurse manager and under direct supervision of shift leader.

Job Responsibilities:

Remotely and continually observes multiple patients for the purpose of identifying behaviors which are

potentially hazardous to patient or others.

Identifies safety concerns documents safety-related observations and communicates patients needs and

concerns to nursing unit staff.

Recognizes and verbally intervenes / interacts with patient in a professional and compassionate manner

to redirect behavior that leads to potential or actual threat to patients safety. Immediately alerts nursing staff when physical intervention is required.

Accurately documents observations interventions and events in tele-sitting software according to

defined procedures.

Participates in ongoing educational activities.

Completes assigned goals

Minimum Required:

1 year experience in a healthcare role requiring direct professional and compassionate communication with patients and families. (Nursing home skilled nursing facility hospital home care phlebotomy transporter etc)

High-School diploma or GED; skilled in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written oral and verbal format. Skilled to record information acurately and as necessary to perform job duties.

Ability to sit for long periods focus multi-task and observe multiple patients at one literacy critical thinking skills assertive organized professional clear speaking voice over microphone.

Preferred/Desired:

Approved Nursing medical assistant or other allied health course is preferred.

Bilingual/multilingual desired.

Knowledge of medical technology desired
