Location: Syracuse NY 13210
Duration: 14 Weeks Contract
Shift: Day Shift 5x8.5 Hour Shifts
Hours: 08:00 AM 04:30 PM 42.5 Hours/Week
One Weekend Per Month Required
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Physical Therapist for a contract opportunity in an acute care hospital rehabilitation setting. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment providing comprehensive therapy services to diverse patient populations.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate patients and develop individualized physical therapy treatment plans
Implement therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation programs
Establish functional goals in collaboration with patients and healthcare teams
Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation and discharge summaries
Collaborate with physicians nurses and interdisciplinary healthcare staff
Attend clinical rounds conferences and departmental meetings
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and rehabilitation goals
Participate in educational programs for staff students and healthcare personnel
Assist with training and onboarding of new staff members
Serve as clinical instructor for senior-level students as assigned
Support development of new rehabilitation programs and initiatives
Maintain compliance with hospital policies and patient safety standards
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years Physical Therapy experience required
Bachelors Degree in Physical Therapy required
Current NYS Physical Therapist License required or eligible
Strong rehabilitation assessment and treatment skills required
Ability to work independently in acute care setting required
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required
English proficiency required
Preferred:
Acute care hospital rehabilitation experience
Experience with interdisciplinary care coordination
Clinical instruction or staff education experience
BLS preferred
