Job Summary

GENERAL SUMMARYThe Clinical Simulation Specialist II serves as a technical expert who is able to set up operate maintain troubleshoot and in some cases repair simulation equipment hospital-type equipment used in clinical activities and AV/IT equipment used in simulation activities. The Clinical Simulation Specialist II also instructs and assists simulation faculty and learners in the use of technical equipment used in simulation. The qualified individual performs operational activities such as staff and maintenance scheduling lab utilization scheduling and inventory/purchasing functions. The Clinical Simulation Specialist 1 is familiar with the various modalities of simulation education and has a good grasp of simulation educational principles and is therefore able to assist in the development setup delivery and take-down of simulation education is a campus-based position located on the San Marcos campus in San Marcos CA and requires a presence on campus 5 days per DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOperate and maintain simulation equipment task trainers computerized simulators and virtual reality procedural trainers with the ability to follow scenarios and make appropriate adjustments to technology and maintain simulation-related audio-video recording recommendations for the purchase of CapEx equipment supplies and materials required for simulation-based sessions. Complete ordering process of daily simulation operation equipment supplies and materialsCreate troubleshooting documents simulator checklists and preventative maintenance plans for simulation equipment. Set up and operate equipment/AV system in rooms including equipment supplies moulage etc. for simulation activities. Schedule and assist in training standardized patientsHire schedule and assist in training student workersCommunicate with faculty campus leadership and other campus constituents regarding CICP eventsOrganize and maintain simulation schedules and meet with faculty regarding scheduling concerns and confirmations based on the availability of physical and technical resourcesBuild and maintain simulation developed cases in EMSDevelop and execute simulation learning activities as supplemental to curriculum offered eventsMaintain accurate calendar records in EMS AdAstra and campus CICP calendarsMay be involved with the educational aspects of scenarios including debriefing/ learners to maintain a safe learning CICP simulation technology specialist for day-to-day operationsOTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMay perform other duties and responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to view of the evolving needs and opportunities this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may IN ORGANIZATIONReports to: Sr. Manager of Simulation Education and OperationsPositions Supervised: Student Workers Part-Time contract workers Simulation technology specialistsTECHNICAL MANAGERIAL & PEOPLE SKILLS REQUIREDTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
