Job Summary
Role: Transportation Engineer
Location: Austin TX
Duration: Contract (Possible for extension or hire)
What to Expect
What Youll Do
Build calibrate and validate microscopic and mesoscopic traffic simulation models
Prepare traffic safety study reports intersection and interchange operational analyses
Perform transportation/traffic engineering planning and design including managing tasks and projects and quality control.
Review and present the reports and outcomes with vendors engineers and architects and drive multi-disciplinary coordination.
Effectively and proactively communicate project needs changes and status to both internal and external team members.
Conduct meetings and coordinate permitting agencies to obtain jurisdictional approvals of civil engineering scope.
What Youll Bring
Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Transportation/Traffic engineering
2 years of hands-on experience in traffic engineering transportation planning traffic modelling and simulation traffic operation analysis
Experience in master planning including design of roadways intersections traffic signal control infrastructure data collection and analysis
Proficient in VISSIM Synchro AutoCAD Civil 3D and has thorough knowledge of MUTCD Highway Capacity Manual
Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas or capability of getting registered through reciprocity within 6 months.
Ability to multi-task and adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and timelines work independently with minimal oversight; prioritize and manage multiple assignments; work with a diverse team and communicate effectively and uphold the use of standards and escalate issues in a timely fashion.
Desire to do the impossible with a positive and professional never quit attitude and demonstrates a creative problem-solving approach ability to develop alternatives and innovative design solutions.
Excellent written and spoken English additional languages are a plus.
