CNC Programmer
Location: Indianapolis IN
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer to lead the development and optimization of manufacturing processes that support cost efficiency production goals and high-quality output. This role will focus on leveraging advanced CAD/CAM tools such as Mastercam and SolidWorks to design efficient machining strategies and ensure manufacturability from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety policies and maintain a strong safety-first mindset
- Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to determine specifications tolerances tooling requirements and machining parameters
- Develop optimize and maintain CNC programs for mills lathes and grinders using Mastercam and SolidWorks
- Occasionally operate CNC machinery to validate programs and support production needs
- Collaborate with manufacturing estimators to provide input on quotes and feasibility of new projects
- Select source and prepare tooling and equipment required for each job
- Work closely with project managers to review performance cost data and lessons learned for continuous improvement
- Support ongoing process improvement initiatives and contribute to manufacturing efficiency
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Bachelors degree in Engineering preferred OR 4 years of CNC programming experience
- Strong understanding of CNC and conventional machine capabilities and limitations
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a problem-solving mindset
- Experience with Mastercam and SolidWorks required
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Epicor (preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook Project)
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as in a team environment
- Ability to perform under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
