Help Desk Technician
About the Role:
A well-established professional services firm is seeking a skilled and service-oriented Help Desk Technician to join its collaborative four-person IT Helpdesk team based in Hackensack New Jersey. This role is ideal for a technology professional who enjoys solving problems delivering exceptional customer support and working in a fast-paced professional environment where responsiveness and attention to detail are highly valued.
The Help Desk Technician will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day technology needs of the firms users across hardware software mobile devices and conferencing platforms. This individual will also contribute to maintaining operational efficiency through accurate documentation inventory management and proactive support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for desktops laptops printers mobile devices and related hardware/software issues
- Support and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 applications particularly Outlook and Word
- Assist users with Teams and Zoom video conferencing setup and troubleshooting
- Maintain and track IT equipment inventory and related assets
- Document all support requests resolutions and technical activity within the firms ticketing system
- Follow established IT procedures and best practices to ensure consistent and high-quality support
- Collaborate effectively with team members while also managing responsibilities independently
- Participate in periodic travel to other office locations for support office expansions and technology deployments
- Provide occasional schedule flexibility for coverage related to planned or unplanned PTO needs
Qualifications & Experience:
- Significant hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Windows 11 environments
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 especially Outlook and Word
- Experience with I Manage is strongly preferred
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service mindset with the ability to build professional relationships across all levels of the organization
- Ability to prioritize tasks remain organized and work effectively under pressure
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy
- Law firm or professional services experience is preferred
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Information Systems or a related field preferred or equivalent practical experience.
