This newly created executive leadership positionrepresentsa significant investment in the future of student engagement and campus life at CSULB.

Reporting to the Executive Director and serving as a key member of the Student Auxiliary Enterprises leadership team the Chief Student Involvement Officer will provide strategic leadership across a broad portfolio of student-facing departments programs services facilities and partnerships. This leader will playa central rolein shaping how students experience community involvement wellness recreation leadership development and campus connection.

The scope is both highly visible and deeply impactful spanning student government student unions recreation and wellness events and programming media basic needs initiatives vendor partnerships and auxiliary operations.The Chief Student Involvement Officer will collaborate closely with campus leadership student leaders ASI senior staff and CSU stakeholders to ensure programs and facilities evolve alongside the changing needs of todays students.

• Provide executive leadership for ASIs student-facing departments programs and facilities including:

• University Student Union

• Student Recreation & Wellness Center

• Isabel Patterson Child Development Center

• Beach Pantry & Kitchen

• Grow Beach Garden

• Beach Pride Events

• Student Government

• 22 West Media

• Campus Events Office

• Lead and develop a large multi-layered organization consisting of:

• 57 senior leaders/direct reports

• 3050 employees within each operational area

• Approximately 350 indirect part-time student employees

• Serve as a strategic partner to the Executive Director and executive leadership team on organizational planning student engagement strategy operations and long-range initiatives

• Build strong partnerships with student government leaders campus departments university administration and community stakeholders

• Ensure student facilities and programsremainvibrant centers of campus life that support student success retention persistence and belonging

• Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer on annual budgeting long-range facility planning renovations vendor partnerships and operational sustainability

• Oversee assessment strategies and continuous improvement efforts to ensure high-quality student-centered services and experiences

• Represent ASI in partnership with the CSU Chancellors Office CSULB leadership campus auxiliaries and external community partners

• Support advancement and fundraising efforts including sponsorships grants donor engagement and strategic partnerships

• Lead contract negotiations vendor relationships and commercial partnerships within ASI-managed spaces

Qualifications

• Masters degree or equivalent to ten years progressive experience in the management and administration of a multi-faceted Student Affairs function(s); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Masters degree in college student services administration or related field. Doctorate in Educational Leadership or another earned doctorate preferred.

• Approximately ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience managing complex student affairs auxiliary services campus operations or student engagement organizations; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered

• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale multi-functional student-facing operations and teams

• Strong understanding of organizational leadership fiscal management personnel management and strategic planning

• Experience collaborating effectively within shared governance and student-directed environments

• Ability to build strong partnerships across students staff faculty university leadership and external stakeholders

• Demonstrated success leading change improving operations and implementingnew programsor initiatives

• Strong communication presentation and relationship-building skills

• Experience overseeing budgets contracts vendor partnerships and complex operational environments

• Commitment to student development inclusive excellence and fostering a collaborative campus culture

• Doctorate in Educational Leadership or related discipline preferred

Compensation & Benefits

Theanticipatedsalary range for this position isapproximately $190000$200000 annuallycommensuratewith experience and qualifications.
