Job Summary

Studio Tech Engineer (Podcast Production) Project-Based

Location:New York NY (Onsite World Trade Center)

Pay Rate:$6065/hr (paid hourly; variable schedule)

Schedule:Part-time variable (approx. 2030 hours/week depending on recordings)

Duration:1-month project (June World Cup coverage) with potential for future project-based extensions (not guaranteed)


About the Role

We are seekingtwo Studio Tech Engineersto support podcast and livestream production during World Cup coverage. This is ahands-on project-based rolesupporting live and recorded sessions working directly with producers hosts and talent in a fast-paced studio environment.

This role requires someone who canrun sessions independently troubleshoot in real-time and operate studio equipment confidently. Flexibility is critical as recording schedules will vary based on match timing (evenings and weekends required).


Key Responsibilities

Set up operate and break downaudio/video recording equipmentfor podcast and livestream sessions

Run recording sessions end-to-end: manageaudio levels video feeds and signal flow

Handlecamera setup (PTZ Sony Panasonic Canon)and microphone placement

Performline checks and ensure proper signal flowacross all equipment

Act as themain technical point of contactduring sessions

Troubleshoot and resolvelive technical issues quickly and independently

Manage and deliver recorded files to producers after sessions

Organize and maintainmedia files and recording assets

Supportremote recording setups (Zoom)when needed

Collaborate closely withproducers hosts and talentto ensure high-quality production

Assist withlighting setup and control systemsduring recordings

Guide talent and producers onbest technical practices


What Were Looking For (Manager Must-Haves)

5 years of experience inaudio/video production (studio agency or freelance)

Experience withpodcast production (MUST HAVE not just general production)

Ability to work in afast-paced high-pressure environmentwith quick turnarounds

Strong attention to detail andself-directed problem-solving mindset

Passion forpodcasts and understanding of podcast production environments

Experience to handlecamera setup (PTZ Sony Panasonic Canon)and microphone placement

Willingness to completepaid trainingon internal systems and studio setup prior to start

Must be able to workonsite in NYC (World Trade Center location)

Hands-on experience running full studio recording sessions independently

Strongaudio/visual (AV) experiencein a studio or production environment

Deep understanding ofsignal flow(how audio/video systems connect and function)

Ability totroubleshoot live issues on the spotunder pressure

Proficiency withPro Tools and Adobe Suite

Experience working withcameras mics switchers and recording boards

Familiarity withPTZ cameras lighting consoles and video workflows

Ability tomanage multiple stakeholders(producers talent tech teams)

Comfortable working withVIP talent professional polished and discreet

Strong communication skills and ability to staycalm under pressure

Flexible schedule must be open toevenings weekends and last-minute changes

This is aproject-based variable schedule roletied to live sports coverage

Schedule will vary weekly depending on match timing (not fixed days/hours)

Opportunity to bere-engaged for future productions (e.g. fall sports season)

June 10 Pre-tournament preview episode

June 11 YouTube livestream (post-game)

June 13 & 15 Recordings tied to match coverage

June 17 YouTube livestream (post-game)

June 19 & 21 Recordings tied to match coverage

June 23 Recording session

June 25 Review episode (next set of games)

June 27 YouTube livestream (post-game)

June 29 Recording session
