We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale high-value EPC (Engineering Procurement & Construction) projects within our HVDC and AC Systems portfolio across the UK including both onshore and offshore environments.This is a critical leadership role where you will take full ownership of complex turnkey transmission infrastructure projectsdriving delivery from initial design through procurement construction installation and commissioning through to final handover. You will lead large multidisciplinary teams and work closely with senior leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely on time within budget and to the highest quality standards.
This role is based in Glasgow and follows a hybrid working model (usually 3 days in the office 2 from home). Given the nature of our project portfolio and stakeholder engagement close proximity to the project environment and customer is essential. We are therefore looking for candidates who are either locally based or willing to relocate from elsewhere in the UK.
Due to the complexity of the projects this role requires a strong understanding of the UK transmission sector and CDM regulations. You will bring proven experience operating within UK regulatory frameworks standards and delivery models enabling you to make an immediate impact.

What Youll Be Doing
Full Project Ownership
Lead the end-to-end delivery of large EPC/turnkey transmission projects ensuring delivery to scope schedule budget and customer expectationsLeadership & Team Management
Lead and inspire large multidisciplinary project teams across Engineering Construction Project Controls Finance EHS Quality and ContractsStakeholder Engagement
Build and manage strong relationships with clients suppliers and internal stakeholders ensuring alignment and effective communication throughoutConstruction & Delivery Oversight
Provide strong leadership across construction installation and commissioning phases ensuring safe and efficient site executionCommercial & Financial Management
Own project financial performance including cost control forecasting margin protection and reportingRisk & Claims Management
Proactively identify assess and mitigate project risks; manage contractual claims and drive resolution of issuesPlanning & Execution
Ensure all project activities are clearly defined scheduled and delivered in line with contractual milestonesEHS Leadership
Champion a strong safety culture ensuring EHS is embedded in all project decisions and execution strategiesQuality Leadership & Assurance
Champion a culture of quality excellence by embedding quality requirements into all project decisions ensuring deliverables meet contractual specifications and driving continuous improvement through effective non-conformance management and compliance with GE Vernovas Quality Management System.Tender & Pre-Execution Support
Contribute to tender validation by reviewing delivery models risks and commercial commitments
What Were Looking For
It is essential that candidates bring significant experience delivering transmission projects within the UK. This role requires someone who can take full ownership and operate effectively from day one with a strong understanding of UK regulations standards and construction delivery practices.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have gained this experience through working on Grid substations with major UK network operators such as National Grid SSE or UK Power Networks. This experience is highly valued as it provides critical insight into UK-specific delivery environments and stakeholder expectations.
In addition strong construction experience is essential particularly within complex infrastructure or energy projects.
Engineering degree (or equivalent experience)
Substantial experience managing large-scale complex projects within infrastructure energy or transmission sectors
Proven track record of leading high-value EPC or turnkey projects
Strong experience in construction installation and commissioning phases
Demonstrated ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams and influence senior stakeholders
Strong commercial and financial acumen
Experience managing risk contracts and claims
Experience working in complex multi-interface environments (international experience desirable)
Excellent problem-solving organisational and analytical skills
Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities
