  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid Forklift Certification.
  • A minimum of one year of related experience including building maintenance/operations and shipping/receiving.
  • Experience operating a forklift in a warehouse loading dock industrial or facilities environment with the ability to clearly explain prior use and operation conditions.
  • Building Service worker Certification Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) training and Powered Pallet Jack training are assets.
  • A valid Class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operators License is an asset.

Pay Band:
$25.39 to $32.40 per hour
Shift differential may apply in accordance with the terms and conditions of the CSU 52 Collective Agreement.

The Facilities Assistant plays a hands-on role in keeping EPL buildings functional and welcoming. This position completes basic maintenance tasks such as light electrical plumbing carpentry painting and fixture installation responds to routine and urgent facility issues and supports loading dock operations. Duties also include operating material-handling equipment (e.g. forklift platform trucks and powered and non-powered pallet jacks) receiving and staging deliveries moving furniture and equipment and maintaining organized dock and storage areas. The Facilities Assistant position is ideal for someone practical safety-focused and energized by variety teamwork and active work.
