Summer Internship Program Overview

Baxter offers a robust summer internship program based in Medina New York providing meaningful work assignments and projects that immerse students in Baxters culture. The program is designed to deliver practical hands-on experience that reflects what an individual would do in a similar full-time role with real opportunities to make a business impact. Interns are paired with a mentor receive guidance and support from their manager and gain access to the broader Baxter employee community to help ensure a successful and engaging internship experience.

This summer internship is within the Quality organization supporting Baxters Infusion Therapies and Platforms business at the Medina site. The Quality team plays a critical role in ensuring compliance product quality and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. Interns will support quality systems product and process investigations and improvement initiatives that help ensure the safe and reliable delivery of products to patients.

Project scopes may vary but will focus on quality data analysis deviation investigation support root cause analysis documentation improvement and continuous improvement activities. Interns will be assigned specific tasks in support of manufacturing quality activities and process or system improvements for existing products. Responsibilities typically involve data collection and analysis document review process observation and collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Manufacturing Engineering and Supply Chain.

The intern will be responsible for their individual project while working closely with Quality team members and other site partners. Throughout the summer the intern will work with an assigned mentor and manager culminating in a written project summary and a final presentation at the conclusion of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Support quality investigations root cause analyses and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Assist with data analysis related to manufacturing quality metrics and trends.

• Perform document review and support updates to quality systems and procedures.

• Conduct literature or regulatory research as needed to support quality initiatives.

• Communicate project progress findings and recommendations to Quality leadership.

• Work under the direction and guidance of Baxter Quality professionals.

Requirements

• Baxter is seeking students with strong academic performance and leadership potential.

• Ideal candidates demonstrate analytical thinking attention to detail and a strong interest in quality and compliance.

• Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelors degree in Chemistry Biochemistry Pharmacy Biology Quality Biomedical Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline.

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Demonstrated problem-solving ability and organizational skills.

• Positive attitude; team-oriented adaptable and collaborative.

• Active involvement in campus or community organizations preferably with leadership experience.

Compensation

We understand that compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter we are committed to equitable pay for all employees and strive to be transparent with our pay practices. This position offers a pay rate of $25.00 per hour based on factors including relevant skills and experience time in role business line and geographic location.
