Who We Are
Rubys Place dba Restorative Pathways (RP) is an innovative nonprofit committed to ending domestic violence human trafficking and violent crime through hope advocacy and connection. Our services include emergency shelter transitional housing rental subsidies mental health services substance recovery and wrap-around services. All our services are trauma-sensitive and client-centered and are provided at no cost to our clients. All programs are low barrier.

What qualifications are required for this position
You Are Also:
- Bachelors degree in social work human services or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of two years of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
- Experience assisting individuals with housing searches housing applications or housing placement preferred.
- Knowledge of local housing resources and housing programs.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships with landlords and community partners.
- Experience working within homelessness services systems or housing programs.
- Familiarity with HMIS or other housing data management systems.
- Knowledge of housing-first and trauma-informed service approaches.
- In possession of a valid CA drivers license proof of insurance and be approved by RP insurance as a driver in order to drive agency vehicles. If a staff member cannot be approved by RP insurance as a driver employment might not be able to continue. Instances where staff cannot be approved to drive will be reviewed on a case by case basis to determine if employment can continue in their role without driving agency vehicles. Items considered include but are not limited to: the shift the staff member holds and the frequency/necessity of driving during that shift the amount of time before the staff member may be approved to drive by the insurance carrier the availability of other staff on site to drive agency vehicles as program needs require etc.
- Able to complete all required background checks. Additional requirements may be deemed necessary including fingerprinting (Live Scan) completion of all Community Care Licensing (CCL) documents and ability to meet CCL licensing requirements.
What You Will Do
The Housing Navigator is responsible for supporting individuals accessing Anchor Village (Day Center Night Shelter Safe Park program) and Restorative Pathways programs in identifying and securing housing opportunities. This role focuses on assisting participants in navigating housing systems addressing barriers to housing stability and connecting them to resources that support long-term housing solutions.
The Housing Navigator works closely with program participants case managers and community partners to identify available housing opportunities assist with housing applications and coordinate referrals to housing programs. This position requires strong knowledge of housing resources landlord engagement and the ability to support individuals experiencing homelessness in overcoming barriers to securing housing.
Responsibilities include
Housing Navigation and Support
- Assist participants in identifying and pursuing housing opportunities including permanent housing rental units and supportive housing programs.
- Support participants in completing housing applications and gathering required documentation such as identification income verification and other eligibility materials.
- Help participants develop housing plans that identify steps needed to secure and maintain housing.
Participant Engagement
- Engage participants accessing Anchor Village & other RP programs to assess housing needs and identify appropriate housing resources.
- Provide information and guidance to participants regarding available housing programs and services.
- Support participants in addressing barriers that may impact their ability to secure housing.
Landlord and Community Partner Coordination
- Develop and maintain relationships with landlords property managers and housing providers to identify available units and housing opportunities.
- Coordinate with community partners and housing programs to connect participants with available housing resources.
- Support communication between participants and housing providers during the housing search and placement process.
Housing Documentation and Application Support
- Assist participants in completing housing applications and submitting required documentation.
- Support participants in preparing for housing interviews or housing program intake processes.
- Track housing applications and follow up with housing providers as needed.
Coordination with Program Staff
- Work closely with case managers and program staff to identify participants who are ready to pursue housing opportunities.
- Participate in team meetings to coordinate services and discuss participant progress toward housing goals.
- Maintain communication with program staff regarding housing opportunities and participant progress.
Documentation and Data Entry
- Document housing navigation services housing applications and participant progress in HMIS or other required data systems.
- Maintain accurate records of housing placements referrals and housing search activities.
- Ensure documentation meets program and funder requirements.
- Complete functional timesheets by assigned due dates in compliance with time allocations.
- Actively participate in reflective supervision sessions.
- Create and maintain documentation of processes and procedures related to job duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
This position requires regular interaction with participants accessing Anchor Village & other RP residential programs as well as coordination with landlords housing providers and community partners. You must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform physical activities including lifting up to 25 pounds. You will be subject to frequent interruptions and must be able to multitask and handle stress.
Local travel in the greater Bay Area may be required.

The pay scale for this role is $32 per hour (non-exempt).
