Job Summary
A leading healthcare facility in New Mexico is seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist (PT) to join its rehabilitation services department. This opportunity offers a dynamic mix of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation allowing therapists to work with diverse patient populations while delivering high-quality evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Evaluation & Treatment Planning
- Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and assessments
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on physician referrals and patient goals
- Implement evidence-based rehabilitation programs to improve mobility and function
Therapeutic Interventions
- Administer therapeutic exercises gait training balance and mobility training and functional activities
- Educate patients and families on safety techniques home exercises and assistive devices
- Utilize rehabilitation modalities such as ultrasound hydrotherapy traction massage and heat therapy as appropriate
Documentation & Patient Progress
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on outcomes
- Maintain accurate timely and compliant clinical documentation
- Assist with discharge planning and development of home exercise programs
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
- Work closely with physicians nurses case managers and rehabilitation staff
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning meetings
- Support and mentor therapy assistants and rehabilitation support personnel
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment
- Adhere to infection control policies and regulatory standards
- Ensure rehabilitation equipment is properly maintained and functioning safely
Qualifications
Required
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program
- Active Physical Therapist license or eligibility in the state of practice
- Current BLS/BCLS certification
Preferred
- Experience in hospital outpatient or rehabilitation settings
- Strong communication and patient-care skills
- New graduates with strong clinical rotations are welcome to apply
