Job Summary

A leading healthcare facility in New Mexico is seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist (PT) to join its rehabilitation services department. This opportunity offers a dynamic mix of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation allowing therapists to work with diverse patient populations while delivering high-quality evidence-based care.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Evaluation & Treatment Planning

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and assessments
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on physician referrals and patient goals
• Implement evidence-based rehabilitation programs to improve mobility and function

Therapeutic Interventions

• Administer therapeutic exercises gait training balance and mobility training and functional activities
• Educate patients and families on safety techniques home exercises and assistive devices
• Utilize rehabilitation modalities such as ultrasound hydrotherapy traction massage and heat therapy as appropriate

Documentation & Patient Progress

• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on outcomes
• Maintain accurate timely and compliant clinical documentation
• Assist with discharge planning and development of home exercise programs

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

• Work closely with physicians nurses case managers and rehabilitation staff
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning meetings
• Support and mentor therapy assistants and rehabilitation support personnel

Safety & Compliance

• Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment
• Adhere to infection control policies and regulatory standards
• Ensure rehabilitation equipment is properly maintained and functioning safely

Qualifications

Required

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program
• Active Physical Therapist license or eligibility in the state of practice
• Current BLS/BCLS certification

Preferred

• Experience in hospital outpatient or rehabilitation settings
• Strong communication and patient-care skills
• New graduates with strong clinical rotations are welcome to apply
