Technical and Design Promotion Manager positions offered by ABB Inc. (Cary North Carolina). Collaborate with electrical consultants end-users and EPC customers to determine electrical distribution product needs for projects being designed in the automotive battery manufacturing commercial construction healthcare data center industrial and utility market sectors. Supply design assistance product selection physical layout value engineering ABB solution education and budgeting assistance to gain acceptance of the same into project specifications. Function as the ABB expert in products and applications such as: medium and low voltage switchgear (600V 5/15/27/38 kV) medium and low voltage motor control (7kV 600V) switchboards panelboards transformers power monitoring uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) automatic transfer switches (ATS) paralleling switchgear (PSG) generator circuit breakers system coordination arc flash solutions and others. Develop and present complex technical concepts to engineers contractors and channel partners. Participate in creating and delivering technical papers for IEEE and other industry events and conferences to raise awareness of ABB solutions. Obtain and present customer feedback on new product opportunities product gaps and market trends to commercial and product management leadership for action. Prepare project analysis information such as technical commercial risk assessment and financials for discussion with commercial leadership.
Minimum RequirementsRequires a bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in electrical engineering or a related field and 4 years of experience working with electrical distribution in one of the following capacities: designing power systems and performing consulting engineering; performing facilities engineering at an industrial manufacturing plant; conducting primary services engineering at a utility plant; or performing switchgear and switchboard requisition engineering.
Must have 4 years of experience in each of the following: using industry codes and standards including ANSI IEEE NEC NEMA NFPA 70E and UL; working with electrical one-line and three-line diagrams symbols terminology and associated equipment specifications; and using the Microsoft tool suite including Excel Word and Power lieu of a bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 4 years of experience as stated employer will accept a masters or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 2 years of experience as stated.
Must be willing to travel domestically 50%. Position reports to Cary NC but may telecommute from any location in the U.S.

While hourly pay rate is determined by things such as the successful applicants qualifications and experience this position is expected to pay between $X and $X hourly and is bonus eligible.
