Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite and remote technical direction to site personnel and customers.
- Prepare job planning documents that define the work scope being performed through engineering instructions drawings and process instructions.
- Provide leadership to skilled labor performing work on customer sites.
- Troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for a wide range of equipment such as power transformers switchgear protection relays control systems and motors.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems in the substations on wind and solar plants.
- Perform administrative functions such as writing technical reports ordering materials securing quotations and preparing job completion reports to customers.
- Exercise good judgment in controlling costs.
- Maintain strong safety mindset at all times.
Qualifications/Requirements:
High School Diploma / GED
Desired Characteristics:
- Previous High Voltage experience
- Familiar with test equipment and testing procedures for transformers relays breakers and underground splices.
- Familiar with switching pad mount transformers and substations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to read schematics.
- Ability to write and interpret switching orders.
- Required to mentor and train unqualified technicians
- Proven experience in leading field service team.
- Safety must be top priority.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel.
- Flexibility required.
- Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office Microsoft Teams and SmartSheets
- Basic workplace first aid
