SALARY RANGE:$85002.00 - $96593.00 plus an annual stipend of $13360.80

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Manager Student Non-Academic Misconduct provides oversight for the universitys student conduct and accountability processes. The role ensures that institutional policies related to student rights responsibilities and community standards are implemented fairly consistently and in alignment with institutional values and regulatory requirements.
Reporting to the Associate Vice-President Student Experience the Manager supports a campus environment that promotes accountability learning and student development through restorative and educational approaches to conduct. The position manages student conduct processes advises on policy interpretation and collaborates across campus to address complex student situations while safeguarding procedural fairness and student rights.

Manage the administration of the universitys student conduct process including intake investigation coordination adjudication processes and resolution of cases involving alleged violations of university policies.
Serve as a primary resource for interpreting policies related to student rights responsibilities and community standards.
Oversee case management systems and documentation to ensure accurate records and confidentiality.
Develops and proposes procedures and protocols to the Assistant Vice President- Student Affairs necessary for the day-to-day administration of student conduct processes.
Establishes procedures for communicating any imposed sanctions on a student(s) in accordance with relevant university policies and bylaws.
Ensures that students are always aware of their rights and their obligations during the student conduct process (particular attention likely required for international students) and for both complainants and respondents.
Provides regular updates to parties involved as a case is moving through the process (within limits of confidentiality agreed upon).
Creates and provides developmental educational and informational presentations trainings & workshop on student conduct issues policies and procedures throughout the university community in consultation with the Assistant Vice President- Student Affairs.
Acts as first point of contact and liaises with Human Resources Academic Labour Relations and Provosts office as appropriate regarding all human resources health and safety and union related matters including but not limited to hiring performance/discipline sick leaves workers compensation terminations retirements resignations.
Provides general retention counseling and guidance for students on a variety of academic and personal issues.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters degree in post-secondary education college student personnel student affairs public administration conflict resolution or a related field from an accredited institution.
Two years progress experience in student affairs student conduct or related areas in higher education working with post-secondary students.
Extensive knowledge of university policies and procedures related to student conduct as outlined in relevant university policies including knowledge of due process rights of students principles of procedural fairness and natural justice.
Experience managing complex student cases and interpreting institutional policy.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills including active listening.
Ability to collaborate across offices/units is essential.
Demonstrated awareness and understanding of cultural competency Indigeneity and decolonization equity diversity inclusion anti-racism marginalization power dynamics and their role in complaints resolution.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate with tact discretion and diplomacy.
Excellent judgment with the ability to effectively assess the urgency of situations and implement crisis intervention skills.
Experience working independently and without close supervision.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D. in post-secondary education college student personnel student affairs or a related field from an accredited institution.
Experience with risk management conduct processes investigations or restorative practices.
Alternative dispute resolution training and/or a certificate in dispute resolution mediation or related discipline are strong assets.
Experience in training and/or workshop facilitation developing and delivering educational workshops and seminars for diverse audiences.
