The Technology Departmentstrives to provide the highest quality technology-based services and solutions in the most cost-effective manner to facilitate the needs of our customers within VTA and the customers VTA serves.DefinitionUnder general supervision the Information Systems Analyst II provides technical and analytical support to VTAs information systems and computer servers.Distinguishing CharacteristicsThis is the journey level in the Information Systems Analyst class is distinguished from the Information Systems Analyst I by performance of the full range of duties as at this level are expected to be able to analyze information system problems operations and configurations to identify opportunities for improving system operations and efficiencies manage the most complex system control tasks and perform the full array of installation and troubleshooting responsibilities. This classification provides information to users and coworkers on a one-on-one basis to transfer work or demonstrate applications and/or business processes.The Information Systems Analyst II may provide leadership or assistance in projects involving internal and external include arranging meetings being an active participant coordinating tasks proposing solutions or demonstrating or testing application functionality on basic deployments/upgrades.This class differs from the higher level class of Senior Information Systems Analyst in that the Senior Information Systems Analyst is the advanced journey-level classification and performs the most difficult and responsible types of duties assigned to this class series including serving as project lead over staff responsible for technical and analytical support to VTAs computer information systems and computer Senior Information Systems Analyst may lead project functions including assigning work delegating assignments reviewing the work of others and keeping the supervisor updated.
The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is a technically strong customer-focused and solutions-oriented IT professional with experience supporting end-user environments. This role requires a proactive individual dedicated to maintaining excellent customer service through effective use of the helpdesk phone line and ticketing system. They bring a solid foundation in troubleshooting system analysis and infrastructure support along with the ability to independently manage complex technical issues from diagnosis through resolution.
They are proficient in supporting Microsoft environments (Windows OS Office Exchange MS Teams) hardware and peripheral installations with experience working across desktops laptops mobile devices and multifunction equipment. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate system performance recommend improvements and enhance operational efficiency.
In addition to technical expertise this individual is a collaborative team player who communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical users. They are comfortable providing one-on-one support explaining systems and processes and contributing to small-to-mid-sized projects including coordinating tasks with vendors and internal stakeholders.
A proactive mindset attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment will set the successful candidate apart. Experience in public sector environments or supporting large-scale mission-critical systems is highly desirable.

Essential Job Functions
- Typical TasksDuties performed may vary depending on the area of assignment and the working level.
- Prepares and installs computer hardware software upgrades and peripherals;
- Monitors operational systems performs backups manages off-site storage of media runs production jobs troubleshoots system-wide problems;
- Resolves operational and maintenance issues using diagnostic and troubleshooting methods and confers with other staff on status issues and action;
- Analyzes information system issues operations and configurations to identify system improvements and to enhance operating efficiencies and coordinates with programmers as needed;
- As directed completes minor budgeting activities SAP user transactions memoranda writing and administrativetasks such as email or technical reports;
- Assists with minor procurements and related administrative tasks;
- Leads smaller projects or portions of larger projects using VTA personnel consultants and vendors;
- Coordinates the implementation of hardware and software additions and enhancements;
- Controls changes to the various system environments including application software database and operating systems;
- Maintains technical and functional competency in applications utilized by the assigned department;
- Performs related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Employment Standards
Sufficient training education and experience maintaining information systems computer servers IT infrastructure or computer operations to demonstrate possession of the required knowledge skills and abilities.
Development of the required knowledge skills and abilities is typically obtained through a combination of training and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a four-year degree in computer science or a related field and two (2) years of responsible experience performing technical and analytical tasks in support of information systems and peripheral equipment. (Additional applicable experience with technical and analytical support to VTAs information systems and computer servers substitutes for college education on a year for year basis.)The Information Systems Analyst II possesses greater knowledge of VTAs information systems than the Information Systems Analyst I.Supplemental Information

- Full understanding of the operational characteristics of information systems and computer servers;
- Principles and practices of maintaining information systems;

- Install a full range of computer hardware software and upgrades;

- Configure helpdesk ticketing systems and run corresponding reports;
- Effectively perform all aspects of the full cycle of computer operations;

Conditions of Employment
Final candidates must successfully complete a Livescan background check reference checks verification of education or certifications and a criminal history review before appointment.
For sensitive positions VTA requires all safety-sensitive positions to have a 6-month DOT physical clearance. Obtained at the time of preboarding from a VTA-contracted Concentra Location.
Eligibility List
The established Eligible List from this recruitment will be used to fill the current vacancies and additional vacancies that may occur. Eligible Lists typically remain in effect for six (6) months. However Human Resources may abolish Eligible Lists at any time during the six (6) month period. Human Resources may extend eligible Lists for up to two (2) years.
