Job Summary
Position Summary
Position Title: Research Associate NOTE : This position is located in Kannapolis NC appx. 2 hours from UNCs main campus. The Meyer Lab is seeking a Research Associate (RA) who will work on epidemiologic studies related to diet/nutrition human metabolism and cardiometabolic health outcomes. Job duties include epidemiologic bioinformatic and statistical analysis of data from population-based cohort and/or smaller-scale clinical nutrition studies. The RA will be responsible for producing publication-ready data displays and for writing up results for journal submission including substantive literature review coordination with co-authors and formatting per journal requirements. The RA will meet regularly with the hiring PI as well as with larger groups of research collaborators including UNC -based and multi-center teams. Much of the collaborative work focuses on using multi-omics approaches for integrative analysis of high-dimensional data (e.g. proteomics genomics transcriptomics) in studies of cardiometabolic health outcomes.
Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
* Qualified candidates should have completed a PhD in nutrition epidemiology or a closely related field. * Candidates must have expertise in nutrition or epidemiology. * Experience conducting statistical analysis in R for nutritional epidemiologic research including population-based cohorts. * History of publishing in peer-reviewed journals. * Ability to conduct analysis and writing tasks independently and as part of a team.
