Job Description

The Environmental Coordinator will work under the direction of the Environmental Compliance Officerto deliver a range of project deliverables including preparing documents for submission to the client orregulatory agencies and undertaking the submission of environmental documents through DocumentControl. AS an Environmental Coordinator you will review and comment on technical reportscoordinate response to Metrolinx comments liaise with design and construction teams forcommunicating and resolving environmental compliance related matters. Additional responsibilitiesinclude participating in Environmental Working Groups project construction meetings preparation ofmeeting minutes coordination of audit findings and supporting environmental inspectiondocumentation records.

  • Coordinate with architects engineers contractors and subcontractors to ensure all civil-related aspects of the project including excavation grading curbs sidewalks cycletracks and paving are met.
  • Develop and manage project schedules ensuring timely completion of the civil scope tasksand milestones.
  • Review Design DWG Shop DWG to capture any discrepancy and address the concerns to therelated stakeholder ahead of construction for resolution.
  • Follow up with supporting department including Environmental safety Quality for their inputand submittal making sure meeting milestone dates for operation.
  • Follow up with Subcontractor for their input and submittal and deliverable including shopdrawing safety and environmental paperworks ITPs and quality packages and materialdatasheet regarding the scope ensuring on time deliver.
  • Developing Scope of work Schedule draft Quantity take-off and preparing presentation anddrafting construction sketches related to assigned activity.
  • Managing meetings taking the notes for minutes and following up all items ensuring all ofthem being addressed and closed in timely manner.
  • Assist in preparing and managing project budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during construction.
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports including updates on timelines budget statusand any issues encountered. Facilitate meetings to review progress and address anyconcerns. Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation including contractschange orders and progress reports. Ensure all necessary permits and approvals areobtained and kept current.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned promoting a positive teamenvironment and a culture of collaboration.

Work Conditions:

Office (80%) and field (20%)

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction in transit stations.
  • Experience with TTC Go Corridor and Metrolinx Specifications and Standards for Transit Stations is an asset.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of stations construction practices materials and relevant local regulations andstandards.
  • Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively withdiverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • A commitment to safety environment and quality with a strong attention to detail.
  • A positive attitude and a collaborative willingness is required.

This role offers an annual base salary in the anticipated range of $90000$120000 CAD with compensation determined based on experience qualifications and internal equity.
