St. Edmunds Academy

1st Grade Associate Teacher

St. Edmunds Academy seeks a dedicated and dynamic teacher with experience working with young children for a 1st Grade Associate Teacher position. The 1st Grade Associate Teacher collaboratively supports a 1st Grade Homeroom Teacher in a self-contained classroom and works closely with the 1st Grade team and Director of Lower School to ensure that classroom practices align with the schools mission vision core values and curriculum.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to supporting the homeroom teacher with using the schools core curricula to teach all language arts math and social studies classes responding to students individual learning needs supporting the homeroom teachers collaborative communication with parents and supporting community initiatives.

Excellent candidates will have an outstanding record teaching early childhood or elementary school-aged groups believe in childrens capacity to achieve high standards work to build positive relationships daily be motivated to implement research-based practices and greet change and new ideas with curiosity and optimism.

The candidate must share the schools commitment to ensuring that every child family and colleague in our diverse community knows that they belong at St. Edmunds Academy. Excellent candidates demonstrate cultural competence racial literacy and global awareness.

Teachers dedicated to meeting the students individual academic and personal needs while collaborating with colleagues and parents should apply. A Bachelors degree in Elementary or Early Childhood Education is preferred.

Required Experience:

Junior IC
