Head Football Coach

The North Plainfield School District is seeking a dynamic high-energy and visionary leader to serve as the Head Football Coach for our proud Canuck football program.

Canuck Football is more than a team - it is a source of pride and tradition within our community. We are seeking a leader who will continue building a competitive student-centered program rooted in discipline character teamwork and school spirit.

The Mission

We are looking for more than a coach. We are seeking a dedicated educator and mentor who understands that athletics are an extension of the classroom. The successful candidate will:

• Prioritize student-athlete academic achievement leadership and character development
• Foster a culture of accountability sportsmanship resilience and pride
• Build strong relationships with student-athletes families staff and the community
• Develop and implement age-appropriate practice plans focused on fundamentals conditioning teamwork and football strategy
• Ensure athlete safety during practices and competitions by following all district and NJSIAA safety guidelines
• Collaborate with assistant coaches the athletic department and school administration to support program growth and student success
• Serve as a positive role model who inspires student-athletes both on and off the field

• Energetic and student-centered leadership style
• Strong knowledge of football fundamentals player development and team strategy
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with students parents and colleagues
• Commitment to professionalism integrity and educational excellence
• Ability to continue strengthening and growing the Canuck football program at all levels

Qualifications

• Current New Jersey teaching certification or New Jersey substitute certification in accordance with district policy
• Previous coaching experience preferred
• Demonstrated commitment to student development and educational athletics

Salary

Stipend: $13177
