About the Organization:
The Simulation team part of the Autonomous Vehicle organizationis responsible fordeveloping and advancing the simulation ecosystem that enables the growth and maturity of GMs autonomous driving technology.We develop scalable tools workflows and analysis capabilities that enable data-driven decisions across AV development testing and validation. Partnering with Autonomy Systems Safety and other cross-functional teams we provide the simulation foundation needed to assess system behavior improve development velocity and support end-to-end AV quality. We own large-scale scenario librariestest and evaluation pipelines and core infrastructure that support virtual testing data analysis model development and validation within a unified framework. By joining this team you will help shape GMs core simulation platforms turn complex system behavior into actionable insights and accelerate the development of safe scalable autonomous vehicles.
WhatYoullDo:
Design build andmaintainlarge-scaletest infrastructureandevaluation pipelinesthat enable and quantifythe accuracy reliability and efficiency of simulation tests used for autonomous vehicle software validation.
Develop andmaintainGMs core simulation dashboards and reports delivering clear actionable and interpretable insights on test operations simulationtrustand healthtrendsto engineering teams and leadership.
Drive scalablesimulationquality assessments standardized processes and automation to support seamless integration of automated outputs with human-in-the-loop analysis and evaluation.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners across Autonomy Systems Safety and customer teams to define refine and drive consensus on simulation validation methodologies and requirements.
Upholdhigh standardsfor code quality and software architecture through code reviews and technical leadership mentoring other engineers on software engineering and simulation testing best practices.
Leverage AI-assisted development tools and analytics platforms to enhance productivity improve code quality and drive innovation in simulation testing.
What You Must Have:
5 years of applied experience developing complex evaluation simulation or test frameworks.
Proficient in developing Python for production systems including unit testing code review performance tradeoffs and reliability best practices.
Demonstrated ability to drive technical design and execution across multiple teams and organizations in a remote or distributed environment.
Strong communicationand collaboration skills.
BS MS or PhD in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent experience.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge:
Experiencetesting andevaluating robotics systems or autonomous vehicles including working on simulation frameworks.
Experience working on test strategies and validation for safety-critical products.
A strong data-driven curiosity to investigate anomalies and systematically root-cause discrepancies.
Familiarity with SQL time-series data analysis performance monitoringtoolsand dashboarding systems (e.g. LookerStreamlit).
Hybrid/Remote:
This role can be based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Sunnyvale or MountainViewyou are expected to report to that location three times per week.
*This job may be eligible for relocation benefits if you are interested inrelocatingto the bay area.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $129400 and $198400. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential: An incentivepayprogram offers payouts based on company performance job level and individual performance.
